ORDINANCE NO. 15 3 9
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT MARKET COURT BE ONE-WAY
NORTH FROM WEST ELM STREET TO WEST CHESTNUT; AND THE EAST
WEST ALLEY BETWEEN LOTS 17 & 18, AND LOTS 19 & 20 IN NATHAN
JONES FIRST ADDITION BE ONE-WAY WEST FROM THE SQUARE TO
NORTH AVENUE A
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined that it is
necessary, desirable and in the best interest of the City of Canton to make Market Court
be one-way North from West Elm Street to West Chestnut; and the East-West Alley
between Lots 17 & 18, and lots 19 & 20 in Nathan Jones First Addition be one-way West
from the square to North Avenue A; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be fact.
2. That Market Court shall be one-way North from West Elm Street to West
Chestnut Street; and the East-West alley between Lots 17 & 18, and Lots 19 & 20 in
Nathan Jones First Addition be one-way West from the square to North Avenue A .
3. That traffic control signs shall be placed on the affected street and alley in
conformity with the foregoing.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by
the Mayor thereof and posting or publication as provided by law.

PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a
regular meeting this 18thday of March , 1997 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES• Aldermen May, Shores, Meade, Phillips, Sarff,
• Hartford, Molleck.
NAYS: None .
ABSENT: Alderman Nidiffer.
