A RESOLUTION ASCERTAINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES FOR LABORERS,
MECHANICS AND OTHER WORKERS EMPLOYED IN ANY PUBLIC WORKS BY THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, OR BY ANYONE UNDER CONTRACT FOR PUBLIC WORKS WITH
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois has enacted"An Act Regulating Wages of Laborers,
Mechanics and Other Workmen Fmpioved in any public works by the State, County, City or any
Public Body or any Political Subdivision or by Anyone Under Contract for Public Works,"(hereinafter
referred to as the"Act") as set forth in 820 ILCS 130/1 through 130/12 of the Illinois Compiled
Statutes, 2012; and
WHEREAS, said Act re ,uires the City of Canton, Illinois,to investigate and ascertain the
prevailing rate of wages as defined in said Act for laborers, mechanics and other works in the locality
of the City of Canton, employed in the construction of public works for said City.
NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS.
1.The prevailing rate of wages in this locality for laborers, mechanics and other workmen engaged in
the construction of public works coming under the jurisdiction of the City of Canton is hereby
ascertained to be the same as the prevailing wage for construction work in the Fulton County area as
determined by the Department of Labor of the State of Illinois as of June 1, 2017, a copy of which is
attached hereto and made a part `:y reference as Exhibit"Al
2. Nothing herein contained shall be construed to apply said prevailing rate of wages to any work or
employment except public works construction of the City of Canton to the extent required by the Act.
3. The City Clerk of the Cit} of Canton. Illinois, shall publicly post and keep available for inspection
by any interested party in :lieu main offices of this City of Canton this determination of the prevailing
rate of wages.
4. The City Clerk of the Cil} G_'ldnidi_ Illinois.shall mail a copy of this determination to any
employer, and to any associati.:. 1C employers and to the person or association of employees who have
filed, or file, their names and addresses,requesting copies of any determination stating the particular
rates and the particular class of workmen whose wages will be affected by such rates.
5. The City Clerk of the Cit) of Cancer. Illinois, shall promptly file a certified copy of this Resolution
no later than July 15'°with both the Secretary of State, of the State of Illinois, and Department of
Labor, of the State of Illinois

6. The City Clerk of the City of Canton. Illinois, shall cause to be published in the Canton Daily
Ledger a notice of this determination by this public body. Said notice shall conform substantially to
the notice attached hereto. Such publication shall constitute that this notice is the determination of the
City of Canton and is effective.
7. This Resolution shall he in frill force and effect upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County. Illinois. Lad approved by the Mayor thereof
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, at a regular meeting this 6th day of June,
2017, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Ryan Mayhew, Chris Jump, John Lovell, Craig West, Angie Hale, Tad
Putrich, Angie I ingefelter
