ORDINANCE NO. 1533
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY DANNY & KATHLEEN
HARSHBARGER OF 1 MARLEE DRIVE, CANTON, ILLINOIS TO THE CITY OF CANTON,
FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, IN AN R-2 ZONING CONFIGURATION.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is not located
in any municipality, but that the same is located outside the
corporate limits of said City of Canton; and,
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that the territory
hereinafter described is contiguous to the City of Canton along
its boundary line thereof; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a Petition for
Annexation and Rezoning has been filed by the Petitioners, Danny
& Kathleen Harshbarger, requesting that the property hereinafter
described be annexed to the City of Canton in an R-2 zoning
configuration; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a public hearing
was conducted by the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of
Canton, Illinois, in accordance with the laws of this State and
the ordinances of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, on
February 10, 1997, and said Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously
recommended that the property hereinafter described be annexed to
the City of Canton in an R-2 zoning configuation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows:
Lot number one (1) Bar-Mac Subdivision, a part
of the North one-half (N 2) of Section Fifteen
(15), township seven (7) North, Range Four (4)
East of the Fourth Principal Meridian, situated
in the Township of Canton, in the County of
Fulton, State of Illinois.
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Canton, County
of Fulton, State of Illinois, in accordance with the applicable
rules, laws and regulations of the Illinois Municipal Code.
Section 2. That the above-described property shall be and
the same is hereby designated with an R-2 zoning configuration,
single family residential.
Section 3. That the City Zoning Administrator is hereby
instructed and ordered to make the necessary adjustments to the
zoning map of the City of Canton, Illinois, to reflect the annexation
and rezoning hereunder.
Section 4. That this ordinance was passed and became in full
force and effect immediately upon its passage by a majority vote
of the aldermen holding office in the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois, at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, this iFth day of March ~
1997, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen May, Shores, Meade, Nidiffer, Phillips, Sarff,
Hartford, Molleck.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
