A RESOLIITION DIRECTING DEMOLITION OF INII'ROVEMENTS TO REAL PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 323 JOHNSON COIIRT, CANTON, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, that by reason of recommendations of the Fulton
County Health Department it has been made to appear that a house
located at 323 Johnson Court, Canton, Illinois, and more
specifically described as follows:
Lot 11 and also a Part of Lot 13 in Stockdale Subdivision of
Lot 1 - French~s Addition,
Beginning at a point 66.66 feet North of the Southeast
corner of said Lot 13; thence West 104.5 feet to the
Southeast corner of Lot 11; thence North 66.66 feet to the
Northeast corner of Lot 11 thence East 104.5 feet; thence
South 66.66 feat to the Point of Beginning, situated in the
City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois,
is in dangerous and unsafe condition and that said real estate is
owned by Jackson and Barbara Neal.
WHEREAS, 65 ILCS 5/11-31-1 et seq., Illinois Compiled
Statutes empowers municipalities to demolish, repair or cause the
demolition or repair of dangerous and unsafe buildings; and
further empowers municipalities to apply to the Circuit Court for
an Order to demolish, obtain a personal judgement for costs of
demolition and the legal action, and obtain alien on said
premises and to foreclose on same; and,
WHEREAS, the 15 day statutory notice has previously been
given by City staff pursuant to prior instructions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois that the building(s)
located on the premises described above is hereby declared to be
dangerous and unsafe within the meaning of the Statutes set forth
in 65 ILCS 5/11-31-1 et. seq., Illinois Compiled Statutes; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Canton City Attorney be and
he is hereby authorized and directed to apply on behalf of the
City of Canton to the Circuit Court of the Ninth Judicial Circuit
of Fulton County, Illinois, for an Order authorizing the City to
demolish said building, to obtain 3udgment for costs of every
kind, and to attach a lien thereto and to foreclose the same.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 6t-h day of June,
1995, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen May, Shores, Meade, Bohler, Phillips,
Sarff, Hartford, Molleck.
NAYS: None.
