AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY
OWNED BY THE CITY OF CANTON
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the corporate authorities of the City of Canton, it is no longer
necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the City of Canton to retain the following
described personal property now owned by it:
AMKUS Hydraulic Rescue Tools; and
WHEREAS, the Buckheart Fire Protection District of Fulton County, Illinois, has offered to
purchase the Sale Property for the sum of$7,000.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section One: The foregoing recitals are incorporated herein as finding of the City Council of the
City of Canton.
Section Two: Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4,
the City Council finds that the Sale Property, now owned by the City of Canton is no longer
necessary or useful to the City of Canton and the best interest of the city of Canton will be served
by its sale.
Section Three: Pursuant to said Section 11-76-4, Fire Chief Tom Shubert is hereby authorized
and directed to sell the Sale Property to the Buckheart Fire Protection District of Fulton County,
Illinois, for the sum of$7,000
Section Four: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
Section Five: Funds from this transaction shall be used towards the purchase of accessories for
current rescue tools; $6,000.00 to Power Hawk Rescue Technologies, and $1,000.00 to Gov
Deals.
