AN ORDINANCE ABATING ALL OF THE BOND LEVY FOR THE
2016-2017 FISCAL YEAR
($3,325,000.00 PRINCIPAL AMOUNT ALTERNATE REVENUE BONDS SERIES 2015,
$10,000,000 PRINCIPAL AMOUNT ALTERNATE REVENUE BONDS SERIES 2012,
AND $2,810,000 PRINCIPAL AMOUNT ALTERNATE REVENUE BONDS
SERIES 2013)
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has, by Ordinance #3005, previously authorized the
issue of$10,000,000 Principal Amount Alternate Revenue Bonds, Series 2012, and, the issue of
$2,810,000 Principal Amount Alternate Revenue Bonds, Series 2013, and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has, by Ordinance #4004, previously authorized the
issue of$3,325,000 Principal Amount Alternate Revenue Bonds, Series 2015 which refunded the
Series 2005 Alternate Revenue Bonds; and,
WHEREAS, it now appears that the City has, or will have, on hand, water and sewer
funds sufficient to abate all of such bond levy for the City's 2016-2017 fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, FULTON COUNTY,ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The levy for the City of Canton $3,325,000.00 Alternate Revenue Bonds, Series 2015,
for the City of Canton 2016-2017 fiscal year be, and the same hereby is, abated in its
entirety in the amount of$1,695,952.50.
2. The levy for the City of Canton $10,000,000.00 Alternate Revenue Bonds, Series
2012, for the City of Canton 2016-2017 fiscal year be, and the same hereby is, abated in
its entirety in the amount of$355,330.00
3. The levy for the City of Canton $2,810,000.00 Alternate Revenue Bonds, Series 2013,
for the City of Canton 2016-2017 fiscal year be, and the same hereby is, abated in its
entirety in the amount of$102,940.00.
4. That all other levies are hereby reaffirmed and ratified.
5. That the City Clerk shall certify a copy of this Ordinance to the Fulton County Clerk
as and for said Clerk's authority to abate the said levies in their entirety.
6. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by
the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the
Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois as a regular meeting
this 6TH day of December 2016.
