Home My WebLink About#4042 stop signs ORDINANCE NO. 4042_ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4037 REGARDING TITLE 9 (TRAFFIC REGULATION) CHAPTER 10 (TRAFFIC SCHEDULES) SECTION 1 (STOP SIGNS) PROVIDING FOR STOP SIGNS ON SOUTH 6TH AVENUE AND SOUTH 8TH AVENUE AT THE INTERSECTION WITH ANDERSON PLACE, IN THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY,ILLINOIS WHEREAS, the Streets and Garbage Committee has determined that due to (I) the amount and speed of traffic on Anderson Place and (2) the fact that both intersections are "T" intersections, it is necessary and in the best interests of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to place stop signs on South 6th Avenue and South 8th Avenue at Anderson Place, in the City of Canton, Illinois, and WHEREAS, previously, in Ordinance No. 4037, the City Council determined that these intersections were in need of stop signs, however, Ordinance No. 4037 stated that the stop signs were to be on Anderson Place and they should be on 6th and 8th Avenues at Anderson Place; and WHEREAS, the City Council has made a similar determination. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows: 1. That a stop sign shall be placed on South 6th Avenue and South 8th Avenue at their intersections with Anderson Place. 2. Title 9 (Traffic Regulations) Chapter 10 (Traffic Schedules) Section 1 (Stop Signs) shall be amended to include stop signs on South 6th Avenue and South 8th Avenue at the intersections with Anderson Place. 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
