AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 9 (TRAFFIC REGULATION) CHAPTER 10
(TRAFFIC SCHEDULES) SECTION 1 (STOP SIGNS) PROVIDING FOR STOP SIGNS ON
ANDERSON PLACE AT SOUTH 6TH AVENUE AND SOUTH 8TH AVENUE, IN THE CITY
OF CANTON,FULTON COUNTY,ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the Streets and Garbage Committee has determined that due to (1) the amount
and speed of traffic on Anderson Place and (2) the fact that both intersections are "T" intersections, it
is necessary and in the best interests of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to place stop signs on Anderson
Place at South 6th Avenue and South 8th Avenue,in the City of Canton, Illinois, and
WHEREAS,the City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON,Fulton County, Illinois,as follows:
1. That a stop sign shall be placed on Anderson Place at the intersections of South 6th Avenue and
South 8th Avenue.
2. Title 9 (Traffic Regulations) Chapter 10 (Traffic Schedules) Section 1 (Stop Signs) shall be
amended to include stop signs on Anderson Place at the intersections of South 6th Avenue and
South 8th Avenue.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage by the City Council of the
City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in
pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this
2nd day of August,2016 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Alderman Justin Nelson, Gerald Ellis,John Lovell,Tad Putrich,Jim Nelson,Ryan
Mayhew
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Alderman Craig West,Angela Hale
