A RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL FROM THE MUNICIPAL INSURANCE
COOPERATIVE AGENCY (MICA) WITH THE CITY OF CANTON
WHEREAS, the City of Canton is a member of the Municipal Insurance Cooperative Agency (MICA),
an Intergovernmental Cooperative for Illinois Muni c'paliti-;; which provides property and liability
insurance protection for its members; and,
WHEREAS, the cooperative agreement permits a member to withdraw from the cooperative providing
the member complies with the provisions of the agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
Section l: The City of Canton, by this resolution, gives notice to the Municipal Insurance Cooperative
(MICA) that it may withdraw fro.rr the cooperative at the end of the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
The board reserves the right to rescind such not'ce as provided for in the MICA by-laws.
Section 2: The City of Canton directs the City Clerk to serve a certified copy of this resolution upon the
chairman of the cooperative board of directors r_o later tha-,-i April 30, 2016.
Section 3: This resolution shall become effective upon its passage.
