A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INCREASE IN THE RENTAL FEE FOR THE HISTORIC DEPOT,
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CANTON,ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, in the year 2000, the Canton City Council developed a fee schedule for the rental use of the
south room of the Historic Depot; and
WHEREAS,that fee for a Canton resident for a not-for-profit use was set at$50.00; and
WHEREAS,the depot rental fees have not been raised since they were set in the year 2000; and
WHEREAS, comparisons have been completed of similar rental spaces and costs in the area and have
found that this rental amount is low,and that raising it to $75.00 is in line with its amenities; and
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Canton has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON,ILLINOIS,AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the new rental fee of$75.00 for a not-for-profit user for the south room of the Historic Depot is hereby
approved by the Canton City Council.
2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect beginning May 1, 2016 by the City Council of the City
of Canton, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois at a regular meeting this 15th day of March, 2016
upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Craig West,Tad Putrich, Ryan Mayhew,Justin Nelson, John Lovell,Angela Hale
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Aldermen Jim Nelson, Gerald Ellis
