RESOLUTION NO. 3406
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE PERSONNEL
POLICY OF THE CITY OF CANTON
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has reviewed the
personnel policy of the City of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has determined that it
is in the best interest of the City of Canton to amend said Personnel Policy to provide for
reimbursement at retirement of unused sick days and providing for accrual of pension
credit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the second paragraph of Section 5.3 of the Personnel Policy of the City of
Canton be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"All full-time employees shall be granted the ability to
accrue a maximum of sixty (60) days to be used as sick
days. If an employee should retire or voluntarily terminate,
then they shall be reimbursed for all unused sick days up to
a maximum of thirty (30), days. Each day. shall be valued at
1 /5 of the then current weekly salary.
Employees shall also be granted the ability to accrue a
maximum of two hundred forty (240) days "running
concurrently with the 60 days herein above" to be used only
for pension credit with IlVIRF. Upon retirement, the City
shall notify Il1~IRF of the employees total amount of
accumulated sick days for pension credit purposes."
2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by
the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a
regular meeting this 20th day of January, 1998, upon a roll call vote as follows:

NAYS: ~~ Hartford.
ABSENT: None .
