A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE RELEASE OF EXECUTIVE SESSION MINUTES
WHEREAS, the Open Meetings Act requires that each public body review closed session minutes at
least semi-annually to determine if it is appropriate to release them; and
WHEREAS, said review of minutes was conducted on November 30, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the closed session minutes and determined that there is an
on-going need for confidentiality for some of the minutes reviewed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that there is no longer a need for confidentiality for other
minutes reviewed and they should be disclosed pursuant to the Open Meetings Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
1. That the Executive Session Minutes of the Canton City Council, attached hereto and incorporated
herein as Exhibit A, were reviewed by the City Council on Decemberl5, 2015.
2. That the Executive Session Minutes of the Canton City Council noted as D for disclose on Exhibit A
no longer have a need for confidentiality.
3. That the Executive Session Minutes of the Canton City Council noted as E for exempt on Exhibit A
no longer have a need for confidentiality.
4. That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to make the Executive Session Minutes noted as D for
disclose available to the public for inspection and/or review. The Clerk is further instructed to
partially redact any minutes that contain information that is both"exempt" and information that
should be "disclosed".
5. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City
Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton this 15th day of December, 2015.
