ORDINANCE NO. 4008
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW FOR A
PARKING LOT AT 306 S. MAIN ST., CANTON, ILLINOIS, CURRENTLY
ZONED R-3.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois, that the territory herein described is located within the corporate limits of
the City of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, a petition was filed by The Fulton County Housing Authority, owner
of the property, to the Joint Planning and Zoning Commission of said City
requesting a special use permit; and,
WHEREAS, no objectors appeared at said hearing and said commission did
thereupon make favorable findings of fact and did recommend to the Canton City
Council that said special use permit for a parking be allowed for property located
at 306 S. Main St., Canton, Illinois.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois hereby
finds the foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That special use to allow a parking lot at the property currently zoned R-3
located at 306 S. Main St., Canton, Illinois, affecting real property being legally
described as follows:
LOT 619 EXCEPTING 60 FEET OFF THE WEST END THEREOF, IN
WRIGHT'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF CANTON IN FULTON
COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
3. That the City Council of the City of Canton, County of Fulton, Illinois, hereby
finds the facts of the aforegoing recitals to be fact.
4. That a special use permit be granted to the Fulton County Housing Authority,
owner of property at 306 S. Main St. Canton, Illinois as described herein.
5. That the record of the City of Canton, appropriated documents, maps and
related regulations be and the same hereby are, amended to reflect the foregoing
special use permit granted herein.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a regular meeting
this 6th day of October, 2015 upon a roll call vote as follows:

the CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
I further certify that on October 6. 2015 , the City Council of such
municipality passed and approved Ordinance No. 4008 , entitled:
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW FOR A
PARKING LOT AT 306 S MAIN STREET, CANTON ILLINOIS CURRENTLY ZONED
R-3
which proved by its terms that it should be published in pamphlet form.
The pamphlet for Ordinance No. 4008 , including the Ordinance and a cover
sheet thereof, was prepared, and a copy of such Ordinance was posted at City Hall,
2 North Main Street Canton IL, commencing on October 6, 2015 , and continuing for
at least ten days thereafter. Copies of such Ordinance were also available for public
inspection upon request in the Office of the City Clerk.
