A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF AN APPLICATION FOR A COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM GRANT
WHEREAS, in March, 1996 the City of Canton applied for a Cammunity
Development Assistance program grant but that said application was denied; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton has determined that it is
necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton to re-apply to the State of Illinois
for a Community Development Assistance program grant; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the City of Canton shall reapply for a grant under the terms and conditions
of the State of Illinois and shall enter into and agree to the understandings and assurances
contained in said application.
2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized on behalf of the City to
execute such documents and all other documents necessary for the carrying out of said
application.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to provide such additional
information as may be required to accomplish the obtaining of such grant.
4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a
regular meeting this 4th day of February, 1997, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES• Aldermen May, Shores, Meade, Nidiffer, Phillips,
• Sarff, Hartford, Molleck.
NAYS: None .
ABSENT: None .
