AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE/HOME OCCUPATION TO
ALLOW FOR A SMALL BUSINESS AT THE PROPERTY CURRENTLY
ZONED R-2, LOCATED AT 617 S. 2ND AVE., CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois, that the territory herein described is located within the corporate limits of
the City of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, a petition was filed by Beau Smith, owner of the property to the
Joint Planning and Zoning Commission of said City requesting a special use; and,
WHEREAS, no objectors appeared at said hearing and said commission did
thereupon make favorable findings of fact and did recommend to the Canton City
Council that said special use permit allow for the small business refurbishing parts
to be known as BDS Coating Company at the property currently zoned R-2 located
at 617 S. 2nd Ave, Canton, Illinois.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois hereby
finds the foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That special use to allow a small business at the property currently zoned R-2
located at 617 S. 2nd Ave., Canton, Illinois, affecting real property being legally
described as follows:
Lot 343 except the East 58 feet thereof in Wright's Addition to the City of
Canton, situated in the County of Fulton and the State of Illinois.
3. That the City Council of the City of Canton, County of Fulton, Illinois, hereby
finds the facts of the aforegoing recitals to be fact.
4. That a special use permit be granted for Beau Smith for property located at 617
S. 2 nd Ave. Canton, Illinois as described herein shall be, and the same is hereby
issued to Beau Smith, owner of the property.

5. That the record of the City of Canton, appropriated documents, maps and
related regulations be and the same hereby are, amended to reflect the foregoing
special use permit granted herein.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a regular meeting
this 21 st day of July, 2015 upon a roll call vote as follows:
