Nov. 23, 1966
Canton City Council held a Special Council meeting on Nov. 23, 1966 in the
City Council Chamber. Mayor Woods called the meeting to order at 4:02 P.M.
Present for roll call: Aldermen Howard, Rusnak; Svob, Farr, Whitehead,
Jacobs, Long, Kroell, Ellis, Yerbic, Spencer anal Danner. Absent: Aldermen
Skinner and George. Pledge of Allegiance was followed by Prayer, Alderman Danner.
Letter of request for the call to Special Council meeting: To: Nellie
Crawford, City Clerk, City of Canton, Illinois: You are hereby requested
to give notice to the Aldermen of said City, that a Special meeting of the
City Council will be held on the 23rd day of November, 1966 at 4:00 P. M. in
the City Council Chamber of the City Building for the purpose of considering
the awarding of a contract for the construction of a storm sewer known as the
"East Ash Street- North Eleventh Avenue" project. Dated this 22nd day of
November A. D. 1966. W. Paul Woods, Mayor, City of Canton, Illinois.
Mayor Woods reported on the informal meeting held a few days previous when
Mr. Wiegand was present and made a statement that a reduction of $1.25 per
foot on"approximately'3800 feet of pipe, Approximately $4600.00.,-would be
made. Alderman Long moves that the low bid of Wiegand & Storrer, $54,037.50
bb granted, subject' to the agreement of $1.25 per foot reduction on
approximately 3800 feet of pipe and that the Mayor and City Clerk'be authorized
to enter into a contract with Wiegand & Storrer on behalf of the City of
Canton. Alderman Yerbic seconds this motion. Roll call vote on the motion.
AYE: Unanimous.
Alderman Farr moves, Alderman Svob seconds motion to adjourn. Voice vote.
AYE: Unanimous. Canton City Council adjourns at 4:09 P. M.
