City Council has determined that it is necessary and in the best
interest of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to amend Title 9,
Chapter 3 of the Canton Municipal Code; and,
W-EFZEAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois has made a similar determination.

CITY OF CANTpV, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That Title 9, Chapter 3 of the Canton Municipal Code
shall be amended, to read as follows:
"9-3-24.1: SKATEBOARDS, ROLLER SKATES: No person shall
operate or ride on a skateboard or roller
skates of any type on any of the following areas:
(A) Any street or alley;
(B) Parking lots owned or leased by the City of Canton;
(C) On any public or private property where signs have
been posted at the entrance or displayed prominently
on the property prohibiting the use of skateboards, or
roller skates of any type;
(D) On any sidewalks running parallel to the following
streets ("sidewalk" meaning both sides of the street):
Walnut Street from Martin Avenue to Second Avenue
Main Street from Locust Street to Walnut Street
Elm Street from Avenue B to Third Avenue
Chestnut Street from Avenue B to Third Avenue
Pine Street form Avenue B to Second Avenue

White Court from Elm Street to Walnut Street
Anywhere in Jones Park
First Avenue from Locust Street to Walnut Street
Locust Street from Avenue B to Third Avenue"
2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof,
and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 5th day of
May 1992, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Molleck, Coay, Sarff, Bohler, Meade, Barnett,
May.
NAYS: Alderman Steck.
