Mayor Cook called the meeting to order at 7;07 i?. M. Roll call. Present: Aldermen Howard, Sebree, Staley, lap ig} t, IiUrst, Long, Skinner, Berry, Hot- ton, George, and Bender. Absent; Aldermen Herb:,ner, Gibbons, and Abbott. Pledge of allegiance was followed by Prayer b: Alderman Long. Letter addressed to the City Clerk ordering a call to the Special Council Meeting was read: "It becomes necessary for the purpose of properly trans- acting the business of the City of Canton pertaininE to certain local im- provements that there be called a Special M-Jet:irng of the City Council of Canton, Illinois, for the purpose of considering the Prevailing Wage pct of the State of Illinois. You are hereby instructed to call a Special Meeting of the City Council of Canton, Illinois, for the 20th day of Septem- ber, 1962, at the hour of 7;00 o'clock , P. I,I., to meet in the Council Room C� of the City of Canton, Illinois, for the purpose of considering the following; To Consider the adoption of a Resolution pertaining to whether the Prevailinc Wage Rate as adopted by the City Council on the 6th day of March, 1962, and C� filed with the Department of Labor of the State of Illinois on the 13th day of March, 1962, and adhered to by the City of Canton for the past six months, shall be continued and remain in full force and effect. Dated at Uanton, I1.1inois, this 19th day of September, 1962. Signed, Lee Cook Mayor of the City of Canton, Illinois". Resolution regarding the adoption of the Prevailing I^Jaffe Scale for the next six-month period was read. Alderman Wright moves and Alderman Long seconds a motion to adopt this Resolution and send same to the Secretary of State to be placid on file. Roll call vote on this mot..-i_on. AYE: Unanimous. This being Hasolut:Lon No. 326. Mayor Cook inquired how many any _o1 f the Councilmen planned to attend the Illinois' Municipal League Conference to be held in Sprinl'field Oct. 20-23, 1.962, and asked them to register with the City Clerk. Alderman Long, seconded by Alderman Hurst, moves to adjourn. Canton City Council Special Meeting adjourned at 7:19 P. M. City Cler _
