AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARgING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF CHESTNiTT
STREET BETWEEN FIRST AVENiTE AND EIGHTH AVENUE; AND, ON THE SOUTH
SIDE OF CHESTNi1T STREET BETWEEN THIRD AVENUE AND EIGHTH AVENUE IN
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the Canton
City Council has determined it is necessary, desirable and in the
best interest of the City of Canton to eliminate parking on the
North side of Chestnut Street between First Avenue and Eighth
Avenue; and, on the South side of Chestnut Street between Third
Avenue and Eighth Avenue in the City of Canton, Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar
determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COIINCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be fact.
2. That parking is hereby eliminated and prohibited on the
North side of Chestnut Street between First Avenue and Eighth
Avenue; and, on the South side of Chestnut Street between Third
Avenue and Eighth Avenue in the City of Canton, Illinois.
3. That all ordinances, or, portions of ordinances in
conflict with this ordinance are hereby rescinded and repealed.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof,
and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
5. That the Street Superintendent shall cause appropriate
signs to be posted.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 21st day of April,
1992 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: A],derr.~en Coay, Sarff, Steck, Bohler, Meade, Barnett, May.
NAYS: None,
ABSENT: Alderman Tlolleck,
