AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF ORDINANCE N0. 1318,
AN ORDINANCE ANNE%ING AND REZONING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY

A part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 25 in Township
Seven North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal Meridian,
Fulton County, Illinois, described as follows: Commencing
at a point 786.06 feet East of the Southwest corner of the
Southwest Quarter; running thence East 266.30 feet; thence
North 225 feet to a point; thence East 199.36 feet to a
point; thence North 406.90 feet to a point; thence West
199.36 feet to a point; thence South 374.90 feet to a point;
thence West 266.30 feet to a point; thence South 257.10 feet
to the point of beginning.
TRACT II
A part of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of
Section 25, Township Seven North, Range 4 East of the Fourth
Principal Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois, described as
follows: Commencing at a point 1052.36 feet East of the
Southwest corner of the Southwest Quarter; thence North 225
feet thence East 199.36 feet; thence South 225 feet; thence
West 199.36 feet to the point of beginning.
WHEREAS, proper notice of the filing of the petition for
annexation and rezoning was given to the Trustees of the Copperas
Creek Fire Protection District and an affidavit that the service
of the notice has been made was filed with the Fulton County

WHEREAS, a public hearing on said petition was conducted by
the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton on July
8, 1991 pursuant to the proper notice having been published in the
Canton Daily Ledger,
WHEREAS, on July 8, 1991 the Planning and Zoning Commission
recommended to the City Council that the real property described
in the attached exhibit hereto be annexed to and rezoned in the
City of Canton pursuant to Chapter 2~. of the Illinois Revised
Statutes,
WHEREAS, the rezoning of the property permits the same uses
to which the property could be used prior to annexation,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Canton,
Illinois that said real property be annexed and rezoned into the
City of Canton.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
1. That the City Council finds as facts the assertions set
forth above.
2. That the described real property be and is hereby
annexed to the City of Canton, Illinois.
3. That the described real property be and it is hereby
rezoned as follows: Tract I to be R-1, Single - Family
Residential; Tract II to be B-2 - Business.
L,.. That the Zoning Administrator is directed to make the
appropriate changes to the zoning maps of the City of Canton to
show this annexation and rezoning.
5. That the City Clerk is directed to record with the
Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County and to file with the County
Clerk of Fulton County a certified copy of this ordinance together
with an accurate map of the annexed and rezoned territory.
6. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton and
approval by its Mayor.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 7th day of April, 1992
nunc pro tunc August 6, 1991, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen May, Barnett, Sarff, Coay, Molleck.
NAYS: Alderman Steck
ABSENT: Alderman Meade, Bohler
