AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF ORDINANCE N0. 1230
(BAR-MAC SUBDIVISION)
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the City Clerk for the
annexation of the real property described below, and said real
property is not within the corporate limits of any municipality,
but is contiguous to the City of Canton, Illinois, said real
property being apart of the Copperas Creek Fire Protection
District but not being a part of any public district,
Lots 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 23 in Bar Mac
Subdivision. Also the lots indicated on the
accompanying plat as Lots A, B, & C and more legally
described as follows:
LOT A AS SHOWN ON THE ATTACHED MAP BEING LEGALLY DESCRIBED
AS FOLLOWS: A part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 15,
Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal
Meridian, described as follows:
From an iron pin at the North 1/16 corner of said Section
15, thence South along the Northeast Quarter Section line of
Section 15 837.4 feet, thence 90 degrees East 136.5 feet to
an iron pin, the place of beginning. From the place of
beginning running thence South b8 degrees 55 minutes East
237.7 feet to an iron pin at the Southwest corner of Fanning
Tract, thence South 7 degrees 29 minutes 30 seconds West 820
feet, thence North 68 degrees 52 minutes 30 seconds West
along the existing fence line 253 feet, thence South 35
degrees 18 minutes 30 seconds West 77.7 feet along existing
fence line to the North line of public road, thence North 46
degrees 08 minutes West 25.2 feet along the existing fence
line on road to an iron pin, thence North 35 degrees 57

Beginning at a point 652.5 feet East and 968 feet South of a

thence West 150 feet; thence South 145 feet 2 1/2 inches;
thence East 150 feet; thence North 145 feet 2 1/2 inches to
the place of beginning, situated in Fulton County, Illinois.

AS FOLLOWS: PART OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER (SW 1/4) OF THE

DESCRIPTION IS AS FOLLOWS:
Beginning at an iron pin at the North 1/16 corner of Section
15, the same being at the fence corner at the Northwest
corner of the Southwest quarter of the Northeast quarter of
Section 15, Township and Range aforesaid, running thence
South on a line with an iron pin at the existing fence
corner at the center of Section 15, 919.3 feet; thence East
at 90 degrees, 359.65 feet to an iron pin in the existing
fence corner, the point of beginning; from the point of
beginning, North 6 degrees 35 minutes East, 120 feet to an
iron pin; thence South 82 degrees 53 minutes East, 152.0
feet to an iron pin in the existing Highway right of way
line; thence South 7 degrees 28 minutes 30 seconds West,
120.0 feet along said highway right of way line to an iron
pin in the existing property line; thence North 82 degrees
53 minutes 30 seconds West 150.0 feet along the said
existing property line to the point of beginning, situated
in the County of Fulton and State of Illinois, except that
part of the above described real estate heretofore dedicated
to the people of the State of Illinois for the purpose of a
public highway.
WHEREAS, proper notice of the filing of the petition for
annexation was given to the Trustees of Copperas Creek Fire
Protection District and notice has been made and filed with the
Fulton County Recorder of Deeds,
WHEREAS, a public hearing on said petition was conducted by
the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton on
January 9, 1989 pursuant to proper notice having been published in
the Canton Daily Ledger,
WHEREAS, on January 9, 1989 the Planning & Zoning Commission
recommended to the City Council that the real property described
in the exhibit attached hereto be annexed to the City of Canton
pursuant to Chapter 2l~ of the Illinois Revised Statutes,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Canton,
Illinois that said real property be annexed to the City of Canton.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
1. That the City Council finds as facts the assertions set
forth above.
2. That the described real property be and is hereby
annexed to the City of Canton, Illinois.
3. That the described real property be and is hereby
rezoned R-2 Residential.
/~. That the Zoning Administrator is directed to make the
appropriate changes to the zoning maps of the City of Canton to
show this annexation and zoning.
5. That the City Clerk is directed to record with the
Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County and to file with the County
Clerk of Fulton County a certified copy of this ordinance together
with an accurate map of the annexed territory.
6. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton and
approval by its Mayor.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 7th day of April, 1992
