VM-EREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the Canton City Council has determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to place stop signs at the intersection of 15th Avenue and Sycamore Street and at the intersection of 16th Avenue and Sycamore Street in the City of Canton, Illinois; and, V1F-FJ~EAS, the City Counc i I of the City of Canton, Fu I ton County, Illinois has made a similar determination. NDN, Tl-EREFORE , BE 1 T OFiQA I NED BY THE C 1 TY OOINC I L OF THE CITY OF CANITON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. That a stop sign shall be placed at the southeast corner of the intersection of 15th Avenue and Sycamore Street in the City of Canton, Illinois, and, that every driver of a motor vehicle approaching said intersection from the south shall bring the vehicle under his or her control to a complete stop before entering said intersection and shall only then proceed when a safe interval occurs in traffic. 2. That a stop sign shall be placed at the southeast corner of the intersection of 16th Avenue and Sycamore Street in the City of Canton, Illinois, and, that every driver of a motor vehicle approaching said intersection from the south shall bring the vehicle under his or her control to a complete stop before entering said intersection and shall only then proceed when a safe interval occurs in traffic. 3. That the Street Superintendent shall post appropriate signs informing the public of this Ordinance. • 4. That any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not less than Fifty Dollars ($50.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each such offense. 5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 7tl day of April 1992, upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldern~en Molleck, Coay, Sarff, Steck, Barnett, May.
