M. with Mayor Woods presiding. poll call showed the following present: Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. Absent: Alderman Coleman; Minutes of the previous meeting were read and stood a,-)nr-)ved as read. Request of the Disabled American Veterans to hold annual Forget-me-not tag day on Oct. 6th, was on motion of Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman �'ook, granted It was moved by Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Smith, the rear entrance at the Fire Department be used for temporary headquarters of the Surplus Commodity, until something more permanent is worked out, and the motion carried unanimously by roll call vote. '7 Alderman Miller, chairman of the Traffic Committee, recommended an Ordinance be drafter placing Yield-Right-of-"ay signs at 5th and Birch, 6th & Birch, and 7th & Birch; 7th & Aurtyle and 8th & Myrtle; also warning sign at 4th & Myrtle. < Resolution transferring . 15,938. from the Sales Tax rund to the Public Benefit fund, was on motion of Alderman Smith, seconded by alderman Cook, adopted by the ,,following vote: AYE: Alderman Bebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Ailler, Skinner, 'rink, Turner, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: Alderman Staley. Resolution protesting attempts to move Channel 8 WIRL Television from Peoria to Rock Island, was on motion of Alderman Cook, seconded by Alderman Jennings, adopted by the following vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: None. Ordinance "Prohibiting use of Inboard Motors on Lake Canton" was read. It was moved by Alderman Hill, seconded by Alderman Jennings, to place the Irdinance on its passage. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried and Ordinance passed, being Ordinance N o.288. Ordinance "Rules & Regulations governing Boating and Swimming at Lake Canton" was read the first time. It was moved by Alderman Hill, seconded by Alderman Jennings to suspend the rules. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: None. It was moved by Alderman Hill, seconded by Alderman Cook, to place the Ordinance on its passage. Roll Call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and "ill. NAY: None. the chair declared the motion carried and Ordinance passed, being Ordinance No.289. Alderman Staley moves, seconder: by Alderman `link, that Licenses for Boats be issued for one-half year after Aug. 1st. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Skinner, Tink, and Staley. NAY: Alderman Sebree, A'undry, Swick, Smith, Miller, `turner, Cook, Jennings and Hill. The chair declared the motion lost. Alderman Hill moves, seconded by Alderman Cook, to prepare a place for ice- skating at Lake Canton. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Turner, ('ook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: Alderman Staley.
