ORDINANCE NO. 1408
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR CERTAIN PROPERTY
LOCATED AT THE ADDRESS OF 526 EAST WALNUT STREET IN THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS OF GERALD AND CYNTHIA BALDWIN.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is
located within the corporate limits of said City, said premises
being generally located at a common address known as 526 East
Walnut, Canton, Illinois, and,
WHEREAS, a petition for special use permit was duly filed
by the Petitioners and due and proper notice thereof was published
in the Canton Daily Ledger, according to the Statutes of the
State of Illinois and the Ordinances of the City of Canton,
Illinois, and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning
and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, on December
13, 1993, concerning said petition for special use and said
Planning and Zoning Commission at said time recommends to the
City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the property
hereinafter described be granted a special use permit for an
existing four unit building to create one additional unit.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
1. That the territory hereinafter described be and the
same is hereby allowed a special use permit for an existing
four unit building to create one additional unit upon said
premises which is more particularly described as follows:
Parcel 1:
Forty feet off the East end of Lots 1 and 2 in Block
6 in Anderson's First Addition to the City of Canton,
situated in Fulton County, Illinois.
Parcel 2:
That portion of Lots 1 and 2 in Block 6 in Anderson's
First Addition to the City of Canton described as
follows: Beginning 40 feet West of the Northeast
corner of Lot l; running thence west a long the
South line of East Walnut Street, 6 feet, thence
a
South to the South line of Lot 2, thence East on
the South line of said Lot 2, 6 feet, thence North
to the place of beginning, situated in Fulton
County, Illinois.
2. That the records of the City of Canton, appropriate
documents, maps and related regulations be and the same are
hereby amended so that the territory hereinabove described shall
be and the same is hereby granted a special use permit to operate
all as provided by the City Code of the City of Canton.
3. That this Ordinance shall be effectively immediately
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 21st day of
December 1993, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES : A7-de~en May, Bohler, Meade, Saxff, Phillips, Nblleck, Coay.
NAYS : None,
ABSENT : Alderman Qzapman.
