After considera�)le discussion relative to boat sneedi_ng at the Lake, it was moved by Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Dincan, an Ordinance be drafted, repealing the Section of the previous Ordinance limiting the Cubic Inch displ.acPment on motors. Alderman Swick moves, seconded by Alderman Miller, to amend the motion and set a speed limit of "11A,Horse Power on boats on the Lake. Roll call on the Amendment: AYE: Alderman ::wick, Smith. Miller, Tink, Cook and Hill. 14 Alderman Duncan,Sebree, Skinner, Coleman, 'turner, stale, and Jennings. It was moved by Al derman Smith, sec )nded by Alderman Duncan) the Ha;.mond tiJehrmeister Audit Co. of GaleGburg, be engaged to mike the audit for the Mast year, at a price, sub- mitted of it,)450.003 this price t-) include reports for each alderman, and the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote; Alderman Smith moves, seconded by Alderman Cook, the C�_ty take out Liability Insurance on all Cite employees, which would cost, the city -j'25��. ;0 per year, and the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. Alderman Staley recommends a settlement with the Pittsburg Tank Co. for damaJ;es to the stand pipe and tower, which they agreed to compensate the city in the sum of 32000.00. It was moved by Alderman Smith, seconded by Alderman Jennings to accent settlement with the Pittsburg Tank Co. in the sum of `,2000.00 for such damages, and the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. It was moved by Alderman Hill, seconded by Alderman Duncan, the Council request the Fire & Police Commission to hire an extra police during vacation period, and if the Finance Committee so a-prove, he be made a regular polici patrolman. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Duncan, Sebree, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tihk, Coleman, Tl�rner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: None. Resolution transferring $5000.1-10 from the Fire Protection F,_ind to the General Fund, was on motion of Alderman_ Cook, seconded by Alderman Smith, ado-ted by the following roll call vote: A"E: Alderman B..�nean, Sebree, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: done. Ordinance "City Engineer-Salary" was read the first time. It was moved by Alderman Smith, seconded by Alderman Hill, to suspend the rules. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Duncan, Sebree, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Stalev, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: none. It was then moved by Alderman Smith, seconded by Alderman Sebree, to place the Ordinance on its passage. Roll-call vote: AYE: Alderman Duncan, Sebree, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and hill. NAY: :done. It was then moved by Alderman Duncan, seconded by Alderman Miller, to place the Ordinance on its passage. The chair declared the motion carried and Ordinance passed, being Ordinance No. 272. Alderman Staley moves, seconded by Alderman Hill., the City= Clerk advdrtise for bids nn a Fire Truck, bids to be received until 7:30 P. M. May 1st., and the motion carried by a unanimous roll call vote. It was moved by Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Cook, the Ma,-or be authorized to attend Traffic Safety-Accident Prevention Conference, to be held in C,,icago, on May 23 and 24th, and the motion carried by a viva voce votei On *notion of Alderman Duncan, sF(-.-,)nded by Alderman Smith, the meeting adjourned.
