November 15, 1955.
A regular meeting of the City Council held this day convening at the hour
of 7:00 P. M. with 'Aayor Woods presiding. Roll call showed the following present:
Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink., Coleman, Staley,
Cook, Je=-Mings and Hill. Absent: Alderman Duncan and Turner.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and stood approved as read.
Resolution appropriating the sum of $48,999.95 from the "otor Fuel Tax Fund
for payment of bonds or obligations for street improvements, was on motion of
Alderman Smith, seconded by Alderman Cook, adopted by the following roll call
vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, undry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Coleman,
Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried.
Request of the AMVETS for permission to hold White-Clover Tag on Dec. 3rd,
was on motion of Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Hill., granted.
Ordinance "Draying and Hauling Vehicle-Unloading and Loading" was read the
first time. It was moved by Alderman Cook, seconded by Alderman Staley to suspend
the rules requiring the second reading of the Ordinance. Roll-call vote: AYE:
Alderman Sebree, "undry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Coleman, Staley,
Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY - None. It was then moved by :_Jderman Cook, seconded
by Alderman Staley, to place the Ordinancq on its passage. Roll call vote: AYE:
Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Coleman Staley,
Cook, Je�inings and Hill. NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried and
Ordinance passed, being Ordinance No.255•
AN ORDINANCE "Yield-Right-Of-Way Signs" was read the first time. It was
moved by Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Jennings to suspend the rules re-
quiring the second reading of the Ordinance. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree,
Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink„ Coleman, Staley, Cook, Jennings anO
Hill. NAY: 14one. The chair declared the motion carried. Alderman Staley moves,
seconded by Alderman Cook, to place the ordinance on its passage. Roll call vote:
AYE: Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Coleman, Staley,
Gook, Jennings and Hill. - NAY : None. The chair declared the motion carried and
Ordinance passed, being Ordinance No.256.
Alderman Staley moves, seconded by Alderman Smith, to employ Crawford, Murphy,
and Tilly to prepare a preliminary survey and estimate on reserve water storage.
Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink,
Coleman, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: None. The chair declared the
motion carried.
Alderman Hill moves, seconded by Alderman Staley, to lease the lots at the
waterworks, on the west side and above the road, subject to apr_roval by the City`
Attorney and Water Committee. Roll call vote: A"E: Alderman Sebree, '"undry,
Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink., Coleman, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill.
