M. with Mayor Woods presiding. Roll. call showed the following; present; Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Lune+ry, Miller, Smith., Linder, Skinner, Coleman, Cook, Staley and Kloubchar. Absent : None. The following officers monthly reports were read: Chief of Police; City "ngr; St. Supt; Plumbing Inspector; Water & Sewer Depp; Water 1'reatment Plant, Sewer dept On motion of Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Smith, the reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. Communication from the Illinois municipal League relative to Legislation providing for an increase in the jtate Sales Tax with 2¢ for municipal nurnosed was read. It was moved by Alderman `nlobuchar, seconded by Alderman Sebree, that the Council vote No on this proposed issue, and the motion carried by a viva voce vote. Ordinance "Stop-sign at N. E. corner of wmst Maple St. and S. Ave. B" was read for the first time. it was moved by Alderman Linder, seconded b5� Alderman Moore to suspend the rules. Roll call vote: A`TE: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Lundry, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Coleman, Cook, Staley, and nlobuchar. NAY: None. It was then moved by Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Linder, to place the Ordinance on its passage. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, "ioore, Lundry, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Coleman, Cook, Staley and nlobuchar. NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried, being; Ordinance No. 229. Property owners from S. 5th Avenue and Locust Street, represented by Attorney Maxwell, petitioned that the said streets not be widened, and that the City do everything in their power to have those routes re-routed around the city. On motion of Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Duncan, the meeting adjourned. ity Ulerk I
