M. with "`ayor woods presiding. Roll call showed the following present: Alderman Sebree, Moore, Lundry, 'Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Coleman, Cook, Staley and "lobuchar. Absent: Alderman Duncan and fink. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and stood apprived as read. Petition of Harry Tarter to install gasoline underground tank at Ave. li & Mulberry place, was on motion Bf Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Coleman, referred to the Fire Chief and City Engineer, by a viva voce vote. It was moved by Alderman 1°bore, seconded by Alderman Coleman, to accept the reports and place same on file. Resignation of Francis P. Murphy, from the Board of Fire 6C Police Commissioners, was on motion of Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Klobuchar, accepted and ordered filed, by a viva voce vote. Alderman Frank Tink, submits his resignation as Alderman, due to moving out of the fifth ward. C r� The kiayor submits the name of William ". Malmgren, to fill the unexpired term of Frances P. Murphy, on the Police and Fire Commission, and the motion carried by -' a viva voce vote. It was moved by Alderman Cook, seconded by Aldei°man Staley, that stop-signs be placed at "aple and 7th -avenue, making 7tr, Avenue a thru street, and the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. It was m-)ved by Alderman Smith, seconded by -alderman Moore, the Traffic Committee check on the narking of cars on Lim Street, between 4th and 5th Avenue, and report back at the next meeting. The motion carried by a viva voce vote. Alderman Staley moves, seconded by Alderman Klobuchar, to take off the table, Ordinance prohibiting parking on S. Fifth ivenue, from Locust to Linn Street". Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Moore, Smith, Staley and Klobuchar. NAY: Aldermsn Sebree, Lundry, Miller, Linder, Skinner, Coleman and Cook. AYE-4; NAY-7. The chair declared the motion lost. Ordinance "Vacation Pay" was read the first time. Alderman Moore moves, that the Mayor name a committee to meet with the School,Board; Town Board and Park Board, relative to the operation of the e'vound Qbserver Corps, in connection wit Civil Defense. The 'Mayor appoints to theis board: 'jlderman Coleman, Cook, Lundry, Linder and Smith. Alderman Staley moves, seconded by Alderman Cook, to refer to the Water & Oewer Committee and City Engirier, to issue all opening permits, and to make the opening, charging for same, and the motion carried by a viva voce vote.
