Roll call showed the following present: _.l.derman Sebree, Duncan, lloore, Lundry, 1°filler, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Tink, Coleman, Cook, Staley, Klobuchar and Fuskarich. Absent- none. Minutes of the previous meetin,-, were read and st�)od annroved as read. Request of Mr. Casey,C ,nton Park Board playgeaun.d supervisior, for use of the Square for a dance on j'rid.ay, Jul,) 24th, also for Aug. 1.2 during the pet and doll j parade, was on motion of Alderman Duncan, seconded by Alderman Staley, granted. A communication from Attorney James Scott, proposing the consolidation of City and township f-;ovemments, was read and referred to the attorney for study. An Ordinance entitled "Vacating.,-alley between `iyrtle - 13irch St." was read for the second time. It was moved by Alderman Klobuchar, seconded. by Alderman fuskarich, to pl-ice the Ordinance on its ^assage. Roll call_ vote: E: Alderman "ebree, D,incan, floor:, ', ndny, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Ti_r*, Coleman, Cook, Staley, IlIobuchar and luskarich. NAY: 'Tone. The chair declared the motion carried. and Ordinace passed, being, Ordinance No. 180. Ordinance entitled "Th.rouIrh iIighway-5th « .i3irch" was read for the first time. It was moved by Alderman Duncan, seconded by Alderman nfiobuchar, to amend the ordinance to include we. A and Pine Streets; and 2nd and 3rd Ave. at lNlyrtle St. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman ebree, Duncan, iloore, Lundry, "mith, Linder, Skinner, Tink, j Coleman, Cook, Staler, Klobuchar and ?uskarich. STAY: Alderman Miller. Ordinance entitled "Police Department Crested-Members" was read for the first time. It was moved by Alderman Klobuchar, seconded by Alderman Miller, to table the 'ordinance until it was determined who has res7-)onsibility of naming the police department and tba of •the operation of same, also who shall designate the 3-radio operators. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Lundry, "filler, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Tink, Coleman, Cook, Staley, El:�buchar and Iuskar:i.ch. NAY:none. The chair declared the motionca.rr-i.ed. Ordinance entitled " ala.ri.es-City Employees" was read for the first time. Ordinance entitled "Annual Tax Eevy-1053-1954" was read for the first time. The Hairor ap~)oints for a- proval by the Council, Al R�fflard and Gertr ide Rifflard, as custodians at the Rest i�oom. It wa.s moved by Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman 111iller to ar-^rove the a—o*ntments and the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. Alderman M idtgiLk moved, seconded by AldermanLinder to purc',iase the Ford Hegvy-Duty car for the Police department for �y1020.00 includinn trade- .n. Roll call vote: hYE: Alderman Moore, Lundry, Linder, Skinner and St .ley. MAY: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Miller, Smith, `fink, Coleman, Gook, Klobuchar and t'uskarich. The chair declared the motion lost. it was moved by Alderman Cook, seconded by Alderman -mith, to purchase the Olds- m6bile car for the Police department at a cost of $1,224.00 plus the trade-in, from Main Sales - Service. Roll call vote: W'E: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Miller, Smith, Coleman, Cook, Staley, Klobuchar and 1"uskarich. NAY: Alderman Moore, Lundry, Linder, Skinner and Tink. The chair declared the motion carried. Roll call vote: aye; Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Lundry, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, 'fi.nk, Coleman., Cook, .Maley, Klobuchar and Iuskarich. NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried. 78 it was moved by Alderman 1'liller, seconded by Alderman Lundry, the Agreement and submitted by the C. I, r-. S. Co., for electr:i_cal enerLT for 4ijniciapl Pumping, be referred to the city attorney, water and sewer committee and. O'inance Committee,for study, and present at the next meeting. The motion carried by <<An unaniflious roll call vote. An AGREENLENT by and between Fred Ward and the City of Canton was submitted. It was moved by Alderman Maley, seconded by Alderman Linder, the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to enter into agreement on behalf of the City with Fred Ward. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Miller, Smith, Linder and �aaley. NAY: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Lundry, Skinner, Tink, Coleman, Cook, Klobuchar and ruska- '+ r_i_ck. AYE-4: NAY-10. The chair declared the motion lost. It was moved by Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Linder, to take off the table Ordinance entitled "RECKLESS DRIVING" and place on its passage. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman, Smith, Linder and Staley. NAY: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Hoore, Lundry, Miller, Skinner, `rink, Coleman, Cook, Klobuchar and Puskarich. The chair declared the motion lost. It was moved by Alderman Klobuchar, seconded by Alderman Duncan, the 'Traffic committee investigate the possibility of nlacing parking meters on Locust St. from lst. nve. to A.ve.
