HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-03-1953 Council Meeting Minutes Canton, Illinnis Feb. 3, 1953 A regular meeting of the City Council held this day convening at the Dour of 7:00 P. M. with Mayor Woods presiding. Roll call showed the following present! Alderman Sebree, Blackaby, Moore, Jones, Skinner, Linder, Hand, Tink, Cook, St . Clair and Klobuchar. Absent*. Alderman Terpening. K. 1d were allowed and ordered paid when funds are available. On motion of Alderman St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Jones, the officers monthly i re-norts as submitted were approved and ordered r1A.ced on file. Communication from the Police and Fire. Commissioners, informed the Council they had appointed Don Whitmore as regular police patrolman 1.ant11 Feb. 20th-, at which time examinations would be held to fill a vacancy. ' Communication from the Police andFire Commissioners, requested if possible, that Kenneth Lindzey be transfered to the day shift, and still continue as sergeant. It was moved by AldermanJones, seconded by Alderman St. Clair, the-Clerk notify the commission in wirting, due to the fact the ordinance only provided for two sergeants it would be impossible at this time to have a third sergeant, and the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. On motion of Alderman St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Cook, it was voted to pay 2-weeks vacation pay to Andrew Rumler and Robert Harding, who had resigned. On motion of Alderman St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Blackaby. it was voted to transfer $2500.00 from the Garbage dept . fund to the Street & Al7ey fund, and the i motion carried unanimously. , subject to a resolution to be presented at the next meeting. i On motion of Alderman St .
