K.'d were allowed and ordered paid when funds are availably, by roll call vote. The following reports were presented by officers for the month: Police Department, Water & Sewer Dept; Water Treatment Plant; City Engineer; Supt. of Streets; City Treasurer; Sewer Dept; Itias moved by Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Blackaby, the reports be rccepted and ordered placed on file by a viva voce vote. It was moved by Alderman .Blackaby, seconded by Alderman Tink, to remove parking meter back of Drow Hdwr. and one back of Swearingeh Wholesalg,for loading and unloading purposes. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Blackeb y, Moore, Jones, Linder, Hand, Tink, Cook, St. Clair and Klobuchar. Amt Nay: Alderman Skinner. The chair declared the motion carried. Report of the City Engineer regarding conditions of sidewalks in the business district was submitted. It was moved by Alderman 5t. Clair, seconded by Alderman Hand, the City Attorney and Engineer, send letters to property owners of sidewalks in urgent need of repairs, and the motion carried by a viva voce vote. i i It was moved by Alderman St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Skinner, the council go along with the recommendation of the Board of Local Improvements, that the State Highway Department only widen to 22ft, Linn Street, Fifth Venue and North Hain Street, and the motion carried by the following vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Blackaby, Moore, Jones, Skinner, Linder, Hand, Tink, Cook, St. Clair and Klobuchar. NAY: none. The chair declared the motion carried. Resolution for Maintenance of Arterial Streets or State Highways under the Motor Fuel Tax Law, 4vt appropriating the sum of $11,818.00 for maintenance for the year 1953, was on motion of Alderman St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Moore, adopted by the following roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Blackaby, Moore, Jones, Skinner, Linder, Hand, Tink, Cook, St. Clair and Klobuchar. NAY: none. Resolution transferring $2,000.00 from the parking Meter Fund to.the.Street and Alley hind, was on motion of Alderman St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Moore, adopted b; the following vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Blackaby, Moore, Skinner, Linder, Hand, Tink, Cook, St. Clair and Klobuchar. . NAY: Alderman Jones. The chair declared the motion carried and resolution adopted. It was moved by Alderman St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Moore, the Ordinance committee draw up an ordinance creating a 4-way stop at Locust and 8th Avenue, gnd a stop sign at 7th & Birch, stopping the eaet.and west traffic on Birch St. , and- the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. Resolution deviding special assesment on Lots. 7,8,9,10, and 11 of Eyerly Bros. Addition, was submitted and on motion of Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Hand adopted by unanimous roll call vote. It was moved by Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman Hand, to install a street light at 4th Ave. and Birch St. , and the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. On motion of Alderman St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Jones, the meeting then adjourned. City Clerk j
