Atiguat 14, 1952
A special meeting of the City Council held this day convening at the hour
of 7:00 P. M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Woods, and roll call
showed the following present-. Alderman Sebree, Blackaby, Moore, Jones, Skinner,
Linder, Rand, Tink, Terpening, Cook, and Klobuchar. Absent: Alderman St.Clair.
Notice of the special meeting was then read a,s follows:
To Katherine Sporer, City Clerk:
You are hereby authorized to issue a notice for special meeting of the
city council to be held Thursday, Aug. 14, 7.952 at the hour of 7:OOP.M.
For the purpose of further consideration of the allowance, rejection, or
? other proper action in connection with the allowance or Award of the bid or
bids, and the Question of awarding of a contract for the building eFtension
of the Canton Water Works treatment plant.

After considerable discussion ae to the justification of awarding a.
contract on either of the bids previously submitted, which were in excess
of the engineer's estimate, it was moved by Alderman Blackaby, seconded by
Alderman Linder, to reject the two bids submitted and return the bid bond
to the respective bidders. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sehree, Blackaby,
Moore, Jones, Skinner, Linder, Rand, Tink, Terpening, Cook and Itlobuchar.
TTAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried.
On motion of Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Terpening, the meeting
then adjourned.
