MAYOR'S CLOSPNG REMARKS . When this administration started four years ago , we did know where we were going, we've accomplished many things . That we, that includes all the people who 've served the City. They were accomplished by the efforts of all of these people, the aldermen , the department heads, the employees, the appointed officials. And I would like to say a special thanks to allof the elected officials, to the city attorney, to the department heads, to the employees, and most of all , to the citizens of Canton for their support and their efforts which have been so important to the accomplishments that we have seen in the past period of time. The work is not done, and i.t shall never be. Because the city is not static, the city is dynamic, problems change, new problems arise, mew goals must be set. Those things must go on, I wish we could say they were done. But I suppose if we could say that, there would be nothing left to achieve. Northing left to look for- ward to. Yo=u ask what are the things gift are still to be done? Those things will have to be decided by the people that will sti=ll be seated here.. Those things will have to be decided by the citizens of Canton. And those decisions that they make will shape the future of Canton. I know that those decisions can weigh heavily as a mayor. I know that not everyone has agreed with all of the decisions that I have made. And I suppose that is true of anyone who sits in this chair. And anyone who sits in those chairs. But, on behalf of myself and my family, we appreciate sincerely, all of the support, the prayers and the consider- ation that was shown by the many many people in the City of Canton and the surrounding area . Its meant much to us, and I know that many times it hasn 't been easy when some people have not agreed. But that support is important. This job is not easy. But you can all make it much easier. I wish that this council chamber would look exactly like this, every council night, as long a this council shall meet. Your support is important. I thank you for the opportunity to have served you. It has been my pleasure. OATH OF OFFICE - CITY CLERK. Mayor Crouch gave the oath of office to Nancy Whites City Clerk. ADJOURNMENT - SINE DIE. With that Mayor Crouch stated that this portion of the council meeting was adjourned sine die. C , Y CLERK APPROVED. , MAYOR
