An Ordinance allowing a special use permit for a storage facility on
certain property of the)arnagin Land Trust
WHEREAS, the property described on Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and made a
part hereof ("Jarnagin Property'�, is located within the corporate limits of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Jarnagin Property is currently zoned B-2, general business, under the
Canton City Code; and
WHEREAS, Jerry D. Jarnagin, Trustee of the Jarnagin Land Trust, is the owner of the
Jarnagin Properry and has been authorized by the beneficial owners of said trust to petition and
has in fact petitioned the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois that the Jarnagin Property
be granted a Special Use Permit in a B-2 zoning configuration in order to construct and operate
a storage facility thereon; and
WHEREAS, the surrounding neighborhood consists of primarily commercial and
agricultural uses and the re-zoning of the Jarnagin Properly would be consistent with these
mixed uses in the area; and
WHEREAS, on September 8, 2014, at 5:30 PM, the Planning & Zoning Commission of
the City of Canton met, pursuant to Public Notice as required by law, and held a public hearing
concerning the Petitioner's request to allow said Special Use Permit to the Jarnagin Property in
a B-2 zoning configuration; and
WHEREAS, at said meeting of said Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton,
the Planning & Zoning Commission recommended to the City Council of the City of Canton,

Illinois, the granting of a special use permit for the construction and operation of a storage
facility on the Jarnagin Properry in a B-2 zoning configuration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION:
1. That the Jarnagin Land Trust shall be and the same is hereby granted a Special
Use Permit to construct and operate a storage facility thereon within the B-2 zoning
configuration upon the Jarnagin Property described on Exhibit A.
3. That the corporate authorities of the City of Canton, Illinois, and their respective
ofFicers and agents shall be and they are hereby authorized to amend the zoning maps of the
City of Canton, Illinois, to so reflect the special use permit for the Jarnagin Property in said B-2
zoning configuration.
4. That a copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the appropriate authorities of
the County of Fulton and State of Illinois, as necessary, to reflect the granting of said special
use permit to the Jarnagin Property, all as made and provided for by law.
5. That the Mayor of the City of Canton, Illinois, shall be and he is hereby
authorized to affix his signature as the Mayor of said City to this Ordinance and the City Clerk of
the City of Canton, Illinois, shall be and she is hereby authorized to attest such signature
thereto.

September 2014, by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays, with 2 Aldermen absent.

Part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 10, Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth
Principal Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at an iron pin on the Westerly right-of-way line of Illinois State Route 78 and being
West 1460.45 feet and North 3 degrees 43 minutes 48 seconds East 929.43 feet from an iron
pin at the Southeast corner of said Southeast Quarter; thence North 86 degrees il minutes 58
seconds West a distance of 665.40 feet to an iron pin; thence North 2 degrees 03 minutes 21
