� BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TH:E CITY OF CAI�'02�,
- ILLINOIS:
Section 1. P.�RKING METERS. Parking Meters ahall be ia-
stalled on the Public Square of the City of Can.ton, Illinoia, as
=t follows:
(1) �n the North, East, South, and West sides of Jones'
Park, as uow established, on said Public Square, and ad�acent to
the parking spaces provided by the erection of Ialands around
said park.
(2) That all of the Parking Meters installed around said
park �hall be placed on the sidewalks near the curbs of said sid
walks and stalls marked at said meters so as to provide r'ight
angle parking to the curbs, which stalls shall be Eight �nd One-
half (8�) feet in width, an.d all vehicles parked around said par
shall be parked within said stalls, as hereinafter provided, wit
front ends of said vehicles toward curbs.
C3) That it shall be the duty of the Superintendent of
Streets, under the direction of the City Engineer, to cause to
be marked by di�'tinct lines parking stalls, ae aforesaid, and al
vehicles park�c� ad�acent to said park on the Public Square in
the City of Canton, shall b� parked within said stalls so marked,
�ad the 5uperintendent of 8treets, under the directions of the
f:ity Engineer, shall plainly mark those portions of the streets
around said park reserved as no parking zones.
Sectioa 2. RATES AND TIME OF PARKING ETC. That all per-
sons using the parking meters and p�rking laaes, as hereinbefore
is set forth, shall be governed by the parking rates, time of
parking, when such parking is permissable, and other regulationa
provided by Ordinance No. 47, passed and adopted by the City
Council of Canton, I1linois, on the 3rd. day of October, 1961.
Section 3. POSTING SIGNS ETC. The Police Department and
Street Department shall do all thin�s necessary to inform the pu�i
lic of the provisions of this Ordinance.
Section 4. PLNAZTY. Every person convicted for a viola-
tion of this Ordinance for which no other pen�lty is provided
shall be punished by a f�.ne of not less tha.n. One Dollar and no�
more than One Hundred Dollars.
Section 5. REPEAL. All prior Ordinances of said City in
conflict with any provisions of this Ordinance shall be and the
same is hereby repealed on and after the effective date of this
Ordinance.
Section 6. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be in
full force and effect fTOm and after its passage by the City
Council, approval by the Mayor, and published aceording to law.
