AN ORDINANCE ABATING 60~ OF THE SPECIAL SERVICE AREA TA%
PREVIOIISLY LEVIED BY THE CITY OF CANTON IN CITY OF CANTON'S
SPECIAL SERVICE AREA N0. SI% FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY 1,
1995 AND ENDING APRIL 30, 1996
WHEREAS, the City of Canton and certain taxpayers in the
City of Canton Special Service Area Number Six have entered into a
compromise and settlement agreement relating to City of Canton
Special Service Area Number Six; and,
WHEREAS, such agreement requires the City of Canton to abate
60~ of the Special Service Area tax in the City of Canton Special
Service Area Number Six.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COIINCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, FOLTON COIINTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
1. That 60~ of the Special Service Area Tax in the City of
Canton Special Service Area Number Six heretofore levied by
Ordinance for fiscal year 1995-1996 (May 1, 1995 through April 30,
1996) be, and the same hereby is, abated.
2. That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to cause
certified copy of this Ordinance to be filed with the Fulton
County Clerk immediately after its passage and approval.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor
thereof .
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this ~n H day of
