ORDINANCE NU.__;��
WH�tEAS, it appears to the Citp Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is not
within the corporate limits of any municipality but is contiguous
to the City of Canton, Illinois ; and
It further appearing to the said City Council that all
electors residing in said territory and all owners of record of
all land within said territary hereinafter described have requested
that it be annexed to said City as shown by the records of this
Councii:
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY TH� GTTY COUIVCTL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . T�at the territorp described as follows:
That portion of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast
(�uarter of Section Trrenty-six (26) , Township Seven (7)
North, Range Four (4) East of the Fourth Principal Meridian,
Fulton County, Illinois, described as follows:
Btginning at a point on the existing corporate line of
the City of Canton, Illinois, 170 feet, more or less, North
of the North side vf East Chestnut Street, said point
b�ing located at the Southwest corner of Lot Number 3
in Blpck Nwnber 1 E�stern Star Subdivision of the City
of Canton, thence North 490 feet, more or less, to a
point locat�d on the East-West corporate line and located
at the Northwest corner of Lot 19 in Block 1 Easterr(Star
Subdivi�ion; thence tiV'est along the present corporate
line to the North-South corporate line at a point situated
32 rods more or less East of the vlest line vf the North-
west Quarter of the Svutheast Quarter aforesaid, said
point being due �ast of the Northe�st corner af Lot Num-
ber 1$ in Forestview Addition to the City of Canton;
thence South along said corporate line 470 fe�t, more or
less, to a point on the East Ydest corporate line 32 rods
more or less East of the West line of the Southwest
Quarter of the Southeast Quarter aforesaid, said point
lying due East of the Northeast corner of an alley
abutting the North side of Peter Daily's Second Addition
tv the City of Canton, thence East alang the corporate
line and parallel with East Chestnut Street to the point
of beginningt
b� and it is hereby annexed to the City of Canton, Illinois.
Section 2. That a certified copy of this Ordinance to-
gether with an accurate map of the territory above described shall
be recorded with the Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County, I1linois.
S�ction 3 . That this Ordinance shall be in effect from
and after a two-thirds ttdye" and "noe" vote of the City Council
of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor.
