ORDINANCE N0.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS :
SECTION l. That a stop sign sha11 be posted at the North-
west corner of the intersection of 14th Avenue and East Chestnut
Street in the City of Canton and whenever a driver of a vehicle
sha11 approach East. Chestnut Street, he shall bring his vehicle
to a complete stop and then proceed with caution when a safe
interval occurs .
SECTION 2. That a stop sign shall be posted at the North-
�� corner of the intersection of 15th Avenue and East Chestnut
Street in the City of Canton and whenever a driver of a vehicle
shall approach East Chestnut Street, he sha11 bring his vehicle
to a complete stop and then proceed with caution when a safe
interval occurs.
SECTION 3. That a stop sign shall be posted at the South-
ea�.t corner of the intersection of 17th Avenue and East Chestnut
Street in the City of Canton and whenever a driver of a vehicle
shall approach East Chestnut Street, he sha11 bring his vehicle
to a complete stop and then proceed with caution c�hen a safe
interval occurs.
SECTION 4. That a stop sign sha11 be posted at the South-
east corner of the intersection of 14th Avenue and Ash Street in
the City of Canton and whenever a driver of a vehicle shall
approach Ash Street, he shall bring his vehicle to a complete
stop and then proceed with caution when a safe interval occurs.
SECTION 5. That a stop sign shall be posted at the North-
east corner of Avenue C and 01ive Street in the City of Canton
and whenever a driver of a vehicle sha11 approach Avenue C, he
shall bring his vehicle to a complete stop and then proceed with
caution when a safe interval occurs.
SECTION 6. That a stop sign shall be posted at each of
the Northwest and Southeast corners of the intersection of Spruce
Street and North Avenue C in the City of Canton, Illinois and,
whenever a driver of a vehicle sha11 approach Spruce Street, he
sha11 bring his vehicle to a complete stop and then proceed with
caution when a safe interval occurs. The present "Yieldr6 signs
heretofore existing at said corners sha11 be removed.
SECTION 7. Any person found guilty of a violation of this
Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than Five dollars
($5.00) nor more than �ao hundred dollars (�200.00) .
SECTION 8. This Ordinance shall be in effect ten days
after its passage by the City Council, approval by the Mayor and
publication according to law.
SECTION 9. Any Ordinance inconsistent herewith and with
the provisions hereof, is hereby repealed effective upon the
effective date of this Ordinance.
