BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS :
That Section 2 of Article 111 , Chapter 44 of the Revised Ordinances
of the City of Canton , 1959, be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows :
"Section 2. BOATING LICENSE REQUIRED: All persons operating
boats or watercraft on Lake Canton, shall first pay fees an d obtain
licenses as follows :
(1) CAIIVTRF;SIDFNTS , ETC. �anton residents and lease lot
holders of Lake Canton shall pay the following:
(a) �ao Dollars for each boat or craft which is not
propelled by any motor or engin e.
(b) Four pollars for each boat or craft either temporarily
or permanently equipped with any motor or engine not in excess of
twelve hourse ower.
(c� Fourteen Do.Ilars for each boat or craft either
temporarily or permanently equipped with any motor or engine in excess
of twelve horse power.
(2) Fulton County residents. Bona fide residents of the
County of Fulton in the State of Illinois who reside outside the
corporate limits of the City of Canton, Illinois shall pay the following
annual license fees : '
(a) Four pollars for each boat or craft which is not •_
propelled by a motor or engine. -
(b) Eight Dollars for each boat or craft either temporarily'
or permanently equipped with any motor or engine not in excess of
twelve horse power.
(c) Thirty Dollars for each boat or craft either temporarily
or permanently equipped with any motor or engine in excess of twelve
horse power.
(3) Other residents. Persons not residents of either the
City of Canton, Illinois or the County of Fulton in the State of Illinois
and who are not lease lot holders of Lake Canton shall pay the following
annual license fees.
(a) �aenty-five Dollars for each boat or craft which is
not propelled by a motor or engine.
(b) Forty Dollars for each boat or craft either temporarily
or permanently equipped with any motor or engine not in excess of
twelve horse power.
(c) Fifty Dollars for each boat or craft either temporarily
or permanently equipped with any motor or engine in excess of twelve
horse power.
(4) Daily licenses. Any person may operate a boat or craft �
on Lake Canton for not more than one day (consisting of 24 consecutive
hours) upon payment of a daily license fee therefor of Fifteen Dollars.
(5) Limitations on licenseR. Notwithstanding ariything herein-
above contained to the contrary , the following limitations are imposed
on the issuance of licenses :
(a) No license shall be issued for any boat or craft
t emporarily or perman ently equipped with any mot or or engine in excess
of eighty-five horse power.
(b) No license shall be issued for any boat or craft equipped
uith sleeping facilities.
(c) All licenses shall be ob�ained by making application
with the cashier of the Water and Sewer Department of the City of
Ca�ton, at the City Buildin g, Canton, Illinois, and each person applying
for a license, as aforesald , shall present evidence to show that the
boat is properly registered and that he or she carries property and
1 iability insurance on and in connect ion with the boat he or she desires
to operate o said lake,
�d) All owners of boats with motors or engines to be operated
on Lake Canton shall carry liability and property insurance covering an

the insurance covering property damage shall not be �ess �han $�,OOd.00.
(e) No motor boat shall be permitted to operate on said lake
later than one hour after sun down.
This amendatory ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage by the City Council, approval by the Mayor, and
publication according to law.
