ORDINANCE N0. _��
(AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAFFIC ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF 15TH AVFNUE,
SYCAMORE STREET, WEST MAPLE STREET, AND CHERRY STREET IN THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS .)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLIN� :
SECTION 1. That a stop sign shall be posted at the Northeast
corner of the intersection of 15th Avenue and East Chestnut Street in
the City of Canton� Illina's and whenever the driver of a vehicle
proceeding South on 15th Avenue shall approach East Chestnut Street he
shall bring his vehicle to a complete stop and then proceed with caution
when a safe interval occurs.
SECTION 2. That a stop sign shall be posted at each of the North-
east and Southwest corners of the intersection of 15th Avenue and East
Ash Street in the City of Canton, Illinois and whenever the driver of
a vehicle proceeding on 15th Avenue shall approach East Ash Street
from either direction he shall bring his vehicle to a complete stop and
then proceed with caution when a safe interval occurs.
SECTION 3. That "yield" right of way signs shall be removed
from the Southeast corner and the Northwest corner of Sycamore and
North Tenth Avenue in the City of Canton, Illinois and that stop signs
shall be posted at each of the Southeast and Northwest corners of
Sycamore and North Tenth Avenue in said City and� whenever the driver
of a vehicle on Sycamore Street shall approach North Tenth Avenue from
either direction he shall bring his vehicle to a complete stop and then
proceed with caution when a safe interval occurs.
SECTION 4. That no vehicle shall be parked (as defined by the
Ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois) on West Maple Street in the
City of Canton� Illinois from the West curb line of North Avenue B to
the East curb line of Prospect Court.
SECTION 5. That no mot or vehicle shall be parked (as defined
by the Ordinances of the City of Canton� Illinois) for more than two
consecutive hours at any one time between the hours of 6 :00 a.m. and
6 :00 p.m. on the South side of Cherry Street in the City of Canton�
Illinois� from the West curb line of South Fifth Avenue to the Westerly
terminus of said Cherry Street.
SECTION 6. That the proper authorities of this City place
appropriate signs informing persons of th e foregoing provisions.
SECTION 7. Any person found guilty of a violation of this
Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than Five Dollars
($5.00) nor more than �ao Hundred Dollars (�200.00).
SECTION 8. This Ordinance shall be in eff ect ten days after
its passage by the City Council, approval by the Mayor� and publication
according to law.
