(AN ORDINANCE REGULATING YARKING ON CERT.l�IN PORTIOPIS OF SECOND AVENUE AND
ON CERTAIN !'ORTIOPdS 0�' �t1,SZ' CFiESTNUT STREET IN THE C ITY OF CANTOl�t, ILLINOIS.)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CI`!'Y COUNCIL Or THE CI�l'Y OF CANTON, IL��INOIS
AS FOi,LOWS:
Section l. That no motor vehicle shall be parked (as defined by the
Ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois) on the South side of East Chestnut
Street in said City between the East curb line of Second Avenue in said City
and a point on said East Chestnut Street 100 feet East thereof at any time for
more than 30 continuous minutes and then only for the purpose of the conduction
of business in the City Building of said City thereto adjacent.
Section 2. That no motor vehicle sha11 be parked in the area contemplated
in the preceding Section except parallel with said East Chestnut Street and on
the south side thereof.
Section 3. That no motor vehicle shall be parked (as defined by the
Ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois) between the hours of seven o'clock
in the morning and five o'clock in the afternoon of each weekday (Monday throu�h
Friday of each week) on the east side of Second Avenue in said City between the
south curb line of Chestnut Street in said City and a point on said Second Avenue
100 feet south thereof at any time for more than 30 continuous minutes and then
only for the purpose of the conduction of business in the City Buildin$ of
said City thereto adjacent.
Section 4. That no motor vehicle shall be parked in the area contemplated
in the preceding .Section escept diagonal with said Second Avenue and on the
east side thereof and in stalls there designated.
Section 5. That the appropriate officials of this City shall post
appropriate si�ns and make appropriate markings informing people of this �
Ordinance.
Section 6. That any person who violates this Ordinance shall be subject
to a fine of not less than ;�5.00 and not more than '$�200.00.
Secetion �. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
its passa�e by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, approval by �he
Mayor thereof, and publication ac�ording to law.
