AN ORDINANCE FOR LEVYING TAXES FOR CORPORATE PURPOSES OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS,
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR OF SAID CITY, 1976 - 1977
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, did on the 6th day
of July, A.D. 1976, pass the Annual Appropriation Ordinance of the City of Canton,
Illinois, for the Fiscal Year of 1976, beginning on the first Tuesday in May, 1976, and
ending on the first Tuesday in the month of May, A.D. 1977, and in the amount which was
appropriated was the sum of $2,431,227.64 which said Appropriation Ordinance was duly
approved by the Mayor of said City on the 6th day of July, A.D. 1976, and which said
Annual Appropriation Ordinance was on the 13th day of July, A.D. 1976, duly published in
the Canton Daily Ledger, a daily secular newspaper of general circulation, published in
said City of Canton, Illinois, for a period of over one year prior to said publication,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1 : That therebe, and there is hereby levied on all the property subject
to taxation within the corporate limits of the City of Canton, Illinois as the same is
assessed and equalized for State and County purposes for the current year, for the
Fiscal Year of said City of Canton, Illinois, beginning on the first Tuesday in the
month of May, A.D. 1976, and ending on the first Tuesday in the month of May, A.D. 1977,
the total sum of $728,668.62 for the following specified purposes:

Ordinance that may be hereafter passed or

FOR ILLINOIS MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT FUND:
a tax on the full fair cash value of all
taxable property within the City of Canton,

the establishment and maintenance of a
system for the collection and disposal
of-garbage.

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in effect upon its passage by the
City Council and approval by the Mayor.
