(An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 490, being an ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING
SALARIES AND PROVInING FOR CERTAIN BE1�IEFITS FOR CERTAIN II►9PLOYEES OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMIIVCIlVG MAY, 1975)
Be It Ordained By The City Council Of The City Of Canton, Illinois:
Section 1. That the third paragraph of Section 11. SICK PAY of
Ordinance No. 490 of th�s City be and the same hereby is amended to
read as follows :
" Not withstanding fore�oing provisions to the contrary employees
of the Fire and Police Department who are under the control of the
Fire and Police Commission of the City shall be entitled to receive
one additional sick day to that hereinabove provided, subject, however,
to the following limitations : (a) This sick day may be utilized only
after the six days hereinabove provided have been used� (b) An emplo�ee
utilizing such day if called to emergency duty on �uch day, shall be
paid for such emergency duty at his straight time rate; and, (c) In
the event the sick pay of such an employee is not fully paid to him
during the current f.iscal year on account of actual time off, then
the amount remaining shall be paid at the coromencement of the ensuing
fiscal year of the eroployer or as zaear thereto as practicable, provided,
however, in such event, the maximum sick pay shall then be limited to
the lesser of (a) the difference between the amount of sick pay actually
paid during the year of entitlement and six 8-hour days of regular pay;
or (b) six 8-hour days of regular Pay. "
Section 2. This Ordinance sha11 be a.n rull force and effect
upon its passag� by the City Council of the City of Canton, Tllinois
and approval by the Mayor.
