A RESOLUTION ASCERTAINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES FOR
LABORERS, MECHANICS AND OTHER WORKMEN EMPLOYED IN ANY
PUBLIC WORKS BY THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois has enacted "An Act Regulating Wages of
Laborers, Mechanics and other Workmen Employed in any public works by the State,
County, City or Any Public Body or Any Political Subdivision of by Anyone Under
Contract for Public Works, (hereinafter referred to as the Act")asset forth in 820 ILCS
130/1 through 130/12 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, 1995; and,
WHEREAS, said Act requires the City of Canton, Illinois to investigate and
ascertain the prevailing rate of wages as defined in said Act for laborers, mechanics and
other workmen in the locality of the City of Canton, employed in the construction of
public works for said City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS.
1. The prevailing rate of wages in this locality for laborers, mechanics and other
workmen engaged in the construction of public works coming under the jurisdiction of the
City of Canton is hereby ascertained to be the same as the prevailing rate of wages for
construction work in the Fulton County area as determined by the Department of Labor of
the State of Illinois as of June 1, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part
by reference as Exhibit "A".
2. Nothing herein contained shall be construed to apply said prevailing rate of
wages to any work or employment except public works construction of the City of Canton
to the extent required by the Act.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Canton, Illinois shall publicly post and keep
available for inspection by any interested party in the main office of this City of Canton
this determination of the prevailing rate of wages.
4. The City Clerk of the City of Canton, Illinois shall mail a copy of this
determination to any employer, and to any association of employers and to the person or
association of employees who have filed, or file, their names and addresses, requesting
copies of any determination stating the particular rates and the particular class of workmen
whose wages will be affected by such rates.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Canton, Illinois shall promptly file a certified copy
of this Resolution with both the Secretary of the State of Illinois and the Department of
Labor of the State of Illinois.
6. The City Clerk of the City of Canton, Illinois shall cause to be published in the
Canton Daily Ledger a notice of this determination of the prevailing rate of wage is
effective and that this is the determination of this public body.

7. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage by the City
Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.

GL~iZISR - (SOUTH) - Starting at the northeast corner o! Logan County continuing due west through the city of Sutter (Hancock County) to the
Illinois state line.
Thi following list is considered ae those days for which holiday rates of wages for work performed apply:
New Years Day, Memorial/Decoration Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. Generally, any of these
holidays which fall on a Sunday i• celebrated on the following Monday. This then makes work performed on that Monday payable at the
appropriate overtime rate for holiday pay. Common practice in a given local may alter certain days of celebration each ae the day after
Thanksgiving for Veterans Day. If in doubt, please check with IDOL.
EXPLANATION OF CLABSSS

at the time or at some close future date.
ASBESTOS - MECHANICAL - removal o! asbestos material from mechanical systems, ouch as pipes, ducts, and boilers, where the mechanical systems
are to remain.

television, computer hardware and software programming and installation to the network's outlet and input (EXCLUDING all cabling, power and

to the system's outlet and input (EXCLUDING all cabling, power and cable termination work historically performed by wiremen), clock and
timing; and the installation and maintenance of transmit and receive antennae, transmitters, receivers, and associated apparatus which
operates In conjunction with the above systems. All work associated with these system installations will be included EXCEPT (1) installation
o! protective metallic conduit, excluding lase than ten-foot rune strictly for protection of cable, and (2) 120 volt AC (or higher) paver
wiring and associated hardware.
TRUCK DRIVER - BUILDING, HEAVY AND HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION
Class 1. Drivers on 2 axle truck^ hauling lase than 9 ton. Air compressor and welding machines and brooms, including those pulled by
separate unite, truck driver helpers, warehouse employees, mechanic helpers, greasers and tiremen, pickup trucks when hauling materials,
tools, or workers to and from and on-the-job Bite, and fork lifts up to 6,000 lb. capacity.
Close 2. Two or thrw axle trucks hauling more than 9 ton but hauling less than 16 ton. A-frame winch trucks, hydrolift trucks, vector
trucks or similar equipment when used for transportation purposes. Fork lifts over 6,000 lb. capacity, winch trucks, four axle combination
units, and ticket writers.
Claee 3. Two, three ar four axle trucks hauling 16 ton or mare. Drivers on water pulls, articulated dump trucks, mechanics and working
forepereone, and dispatchers. Five axle or more combination unite.
Class 4. Low Boy and 011 Distributors.
Class 5. Drivers who require special protective clothing while employed on hazardous waste work.
