A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE BASE PAY RATE FOR POLICE CHIEF
J. MICHAEL ELAM
WHEREAS, on June, 1997 Resolution No. 3383 was adopted by the City Council
of the City of Canton providing for an increase in basic compensation for the last 3 5 days
of active employment by the City for retired police chief and fire chief; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to make a similar provision for the
incumbent police chief;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council finds the foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That the base pay of Police Chief J. Michael Elam is hereby raised to the sum of
$7,500.00 per 30 days for the last 35 days of his active employment by the City of Canton.
3. That the pay raise in the preceding paragraph is exclusive of all other pay raises
such as annual percentage raises.
4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton Countyl Illinois; at a
regular meeting this 16th day of Maz'~ , 1999 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES• Aldermen Shores, May, Nidiffer, Meade, Sarff, Phillips,
• Molleck, Hartford.
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None .
