RESOLUTION NO. 3550
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RETENTION OF ENGINEERING SERVICES
AND SEEKING BIDS FOR STANDPIPE REPAIRS TO THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS WATER SYSTEM
WHEREAS the City of Canton has determined that repairs are needed for the
standpipe located on North Fourth Avenue in the city, and,
WHEREAS it is necessary that the city advertise its need for bids for this project,
and,
WHEREAS the services of professional engineers will be necessary to carry out
this project, and,
WHEREAS the engineering firm of Maurer-Stutz, Inc. has presented the city
with a proposal for providing engineering services for construction administration
engineering services for an approximate fee of $SI,600 and preliminary engineering
services for a fee of approximately $4,600, and, whereas the city attorney has reviewed
said proposed agreements,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois that the City of Canon enter into the
agreement with Maurer-Stutz, Inc. for professional engineering services; and ,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Canton advertise for bids for
the standpipe repair project for the Canton water system.
That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Canton, Illinois are hereby authorized and
directed to execute and deliver said Contract on behalf of the City of Canton.
That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the
City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a regular
meeting this 5th day of I~cember , 2000, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Molleck, Hartford, Sarff, Phillips, Nidiffer, Meade,
Shores, May.
NAYS: None .
ABSENT: None .
