Casey's is very proactive in age restriction training. If any employee fails the training, the training is rescheduled for all of the employees. The bid was in the amount of$23,500.00 from Fulton County Habitat for Humanity. Motion and second were made by Aldermen Ellis/Putrich to accept the bid. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 10 (ZONING REGULATIONS) OF THE CANTON MUNIPAL CODE TO COMBINE THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS. (1sT READING)#3041 Motion and second were made by Aldermen Jim Nelson/Pickel to suspend the rules for the second reading. Alderman Putrich asked if it would be the same group of people at the Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals. If someone was denied at the planning commission concerns were brought up about a fair appeal if it is the same group of people. Attorney Rabel said it is the same group of people under the combined board. Alderman Putrich said he would not support the change due to the same group of people serving both boards. Alderman Ellis suggested reducing the number of people on each committee and keeping the two separated. Alderman Jim Nelson explained that the commission would make a recommendation to come to Council. The Council would be the second group of people to deny or approve any request. (15T READING) AN ORDINANCE ABATING ALL OF THE BOND LEVY FOR THE 2013-2014 FISCAL YEAR $26,430,000 PRINCIPAL AMOUNT ALTERNATE REVENUE BONDS SERIES 2005. (15T READING) CONCEAL CARRY PLAQUES Deputy Chief Rick Nichols explained that the Illinois State Police are designing the plaques for a universal design. An update will be brought back to the next Council meeting. TORNADO SIRENS Some citizens have brought up concerns about not being able to hear the tornado sirens. Alderman Jim Nelson will check with Chris Helle (Fulton County ESDA) and will bring back additional information.
