AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE(1)VENTRAC MOWER
AND WAIVING ANY FURTHER COMPETITIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS
RELATED TO SAME
WHEREAS,the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois ("City"), is a non-home rule unit
of government;
WHEREAS,the City is in need of a new mower to be used for public purposes,particularly
in the City's public works;
WHEREAS, the City has obtained a quote from Burris Equipment Company, an
authorized dealer of Ventrac products;
WHEREAS,The Toro Company competitively bid the Mower(as defined below)through
Sourcewell, a cooperative purchasing provider(Sourcewell Contract No. I I2624-TTC);
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton has determined that it is necessary
and in the best interests of the City to purchase one (1) new Ventrac tractor and other
options/accessories (collectively, the "Mower") for the City of Canton, as described in "Exhibit
A,"from Burris Equipment Company and to waive any further competitive bidding requirements,
if applicable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City of Canton hereby finds as fact the recitals set forth above and are incorporated
herein as though fully set forth;
2. The quote for the purchase of the Mower for$35,54.00, as described in"Exhibit A,"plus
necessary taxes, titles, and fees, is hereby APPROVED and, to the extent applicable or
required, all further competitive bidding requirements are hereby WAIVED.
3. The Mayor, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute and deliver any and all
purchase agreements, purchase orders, or other documents necessary to purchase the
Mower as described in"Exhibit A".
4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effective immediately upon its passage by the City
Council of the City of Canton and approval by the Mayor thereof.

Dual Wheels are available for the 4520 and 4500 tractors.They
are designed to increase stability,traction,and safety on slopes.
Dual wheels are also great for reduction of soil compaction on
delicate ground.Once the dual hubs have been installed on each
wheel,the duals can be quickly mounted and dismounted.Duals
are recommended for sandy soils or where a broad distribution of
tractor weight is desired, including when driving sideways on slopes
greater than 20 degrees(not to exceed 30 degrees).Duals are only
one of numerous considerations for safety on slopes;speed,terrain,
irregularities,and stopping the unit are other serious factors to
consider for safe operation of the tractor.
NOTES:
Do NOT use dual wheels when using the Ventrac VERSA-Loader.
Engine manufacturers'maximum angle of operation is 250 for
continuous use(all directions)and 300 intermittent use'.
Do NOT use with Wheel Extensions
Intermittent use is up to 10 minutes on the slope,then return to level
ground before returning to the slope. Exceeding the rated angle of
operation may result in engine damage.
