DATED AT CANTON, ILLINOIS, THIS 191h DAY OF May, 2026 Seal di Smith-Walters, City Clerk ity of Canton, Illinois ORDINANCE NO. 4555 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) JOHN DEERE UTILITY TRACTORS FROM HERITAGE TRACTOR, LLC AND AUTHORIZING THE SALE OR TRADE-IN OF MUNICIPALLY OWNED EQUIPMENT WHEREAS,the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois ("City"), is a non-home rule unit of government; WHEREAS, the City is in need of two (2) new utility tractors to be used for public purposes, particularly in the City's public works; WHEREAS, the City has obtained a quote from Heritage Tractor, LLC, an authorized dealer of John Deere tractors; WHEREAS, Deere and Company competitively bid the John Deere Tractors (as defined below)through Sourcewell, a cooperative purchasing provider(Sourcewell Contract No. 112624- DAC); WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton has determined that it is necessary and in the best interests of the City to purchase two (2) new 2025 John Deere 3046R Utility Tractors and other options/accessories (collectively, the "John Deere Tractors") for the City of Canton, as described in"Exhibit A," from Heritage Tractor, LLC; WHEREAS, the City owns two (2) 2012 Case IH Farmall 35B tractors (the "Case IH Tractors"), which upon purchase of the Tractors, that will no longer be necessary or useful to the City; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton has determined that it is necessary and in the best interests of the City to sell or otherwise trade-in the Case IH Tractors to Heritage Tractor, LLC for the collective amount of$7,200.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City of Canton hereby finds as fact the recitals set forth above and are incorporated herein as though fully set forth; 2. The quote for the purchase of the John Deere Tractors for $104,255.44, as described in "Exhibit A," plus necessary taxes, titles, and fees, is hereby APPROVED, subject to the sale and/or trade-in of the Case IH Tractors for an amount of$7,200.00; 3. The Mayor, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute and deliver any and all purchase agreements, purchase orders, or other documents necessary to purchase two (2) John Deere Tractors and sell or otherwise trade-in the Case IH Tractors as described in "Exhibit A"; 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton and approval by the Mayor thereof.
