WHEREAS, the City of Canton, acting through its council and with the approval of the mayor, establishes for the fiscal year, the rates of compensation for the various city employees, and, WHEREAS, the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2026 expired April, 30, 2027 and it is necessary to establish rates for the ensuing fiscal year, and; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, as follows: 1. That the rates of compensation for the fiscal year beginning May 2026 for the various department heads, superintendents, full-time appointive employees, part-time appointive employees and any and all employees referenced in Exhibit A (attached hereto and incorporation herein) are to be effective and inclusive of the date of May 1, 2026. Said salaries are in addition to other entitlements normally and customarily extended to each such employee. 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the city council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
